Connor Wickham and Yannick Bolasie will be unavailable for "four weeks at least" with Bolasie unavailable due to a hip/thigh injury and Wickham out with a calf problem. Wes Hoolahan and Gary O'Neil are both expected to return after being rested for the defeat to Tottenham on Boxing Day, while Andre Wisdom is hoping to overcome a hamstring strain. Saido Berahino could make his first West Brom start since October alongside Stephane Sessegnon and Callum McManaman as Albion seek to end a winless five-game run. Suspended pair Salomon Rondon and James McClean remain out, the visit of fellow strugglers Newcastle being the second game of their three-match bans.

Louis van Gaal must decide whether to restore captain Wayne Rooney after he came off the bench for the second half of United's defeat at Stoke on Boxing Day.
